The Peabody Fire Radio system is a Motorola Narrow Band FM repeater system. The system operates on the UHF frequency of 484.6625 megahertz. The repeater input frequency has a positive offset of 3 megahertz. There are 2 repeaters and each repeater uses a omni-directional antenna with no down tilt. All department radios utilize a sub-audible tone (ctcss) of 203.5 hertz to eliminate interference. The satellite receiver system consists of 5 Motorola radio receivers. The receivers are located throughout the city. The radio signal received at each location is sent to the Peabody Fire Alarm Office over telephone wires to be compared for signal quality. The best signal is then sent to the repeater. There are 15 mobile units and approximately 30 portable units that are authorized to use the Peabody Fire Radio System.

Essex County Fire Radio Network
Peabody is a member of Essex County Fire District 5. The Fire District 5 radio system is used for mutual aide purposes. The system operates on a VHF frequency of 154.07 megahertz. All radios utilize a sub-audible tone (ctcss) of 131.8 hertz to eliminate interference. The Beverly Fire Department Fire Alarm Office is the control center for Fire District 5.
